Brief Bio:

Erin Mansur is the Revers Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, an adjunct professor (by courtesy) in the Economics Department at Dartmouth, and the Faculty Director of the Revers Center for Energy, Sustainability and Innovation at Tuck. His interests are in the fields of industrial organization and environmental economics, focusing primarily on questions regarding energy markets and energy policy. Recent work examines how charging electric cars affects power plants' emissions, how and why the U.S. electricity grid has been changing over time, how decarbonization and electrification policies could affect electricity production in the long run, and whether reordering the dispatch of existing power plants could significantly reduce coal consumption and therefore overall emissions. Professor Mansur's research has appeared in journals including in the American Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the Journal of Public Economics, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, and the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. Prior to joining Tuck, he taught at the Department of Economics at Dartmouth College, the School of Management at Yale University, and the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University. He holds a B.A. from Colby College and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
